Matlock, Derbyshire
This 1980s house sits in a small 'close', and our clients were keen to extend their property, but to not make their property stand out from their neighbours. The single-storey, front extension is modest, but enables the accommodation within the ground floor to be re-organised, to provide a stunning Kitchen / Diner to the rear.
The previous narrow Hall felt a little cramped, but the new Hall is spacious and light, and intuitively leads through the House, to the Kitchen. We have created a Cloakroom and Utility Room, tucked into the darker part of the Ground Floor.
A new master Bedroom on the first floor is light and airy, with a sloping ceiling, rooflights, and magnificent views over the Derbyshire hills.
We asked our clients 'Was it worth it?' they had lived in the property throughout the build, regularly packing and moving around their home. 'Stunning' is the word they keep using, so we take that as a 'yes!'

Fulwood, Sheffield
A two storey extension to an existing 1970's house.
The existing elevations were dated and distressed.
The original brief was to increase the bedroom space, however, the brief was exceeded by designing a fully flexible family home.
Spectacular views from the master suite were achieved by refreshing the house's elevations and increasing the amount of window space.
This project significantly increased the value of the house.

North Wingfield, Derbyshire
A new detached, four bedroom home on two
floors that was built within the grounds of the
client's house. The priorities for the project were
to maximise natural light and achieve a flexible
layout.
These requirements were exceeded by introducing
an 'L' shaped corridor, roof lights and cut holes in
the first floor.
Rooms were designed to be mutli-purpose in that
the study could easily accommodate a bed and
the dressing room a study desk!
"Light floods in through the house it is absolutely
marvellous!" (Brian Smith, Home Owner)

Cutthorpe, Derbyshire
A three storey extension, replacing a single storey,
flat-roofed converted garage. The project brief
was to increase the bedroom and living space
for an expanding family.
This was achieved by an extension that integrated
with the existing and neighbouring properties and
used the light and space in the pitch of the roof
efficiently.
